O papel da mediação socioeducativa na prevenção e resolução de conflitos: desenvolvimento de um programa com os alunos de uma escola básica

Abstract

O projeto foi realizado no âmbito do Estágio Académico do 2º ano do Mestrado em Educação, área de especialização em Mediação Educacional, e teve como finalidade compreender o papel da mediação socioeducativa na prevenção e resolução de conflitos na comunidade escolar. Para atingir esse objetivo foi implementado um programa de mediação em turmas de uma escola básica e, a partir da mediação socioeducativa, inseriu-se a área da mediação no Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno e à Família. No que ao programa diz respeito, foi criado e realizado , em três turmas, um programa de desenvolvimento de competências para prevenir e resolver os conflitos no seio da comunidade educativa. Este programa teve quatro fases: informação, formação, sensibilização e avaliação. O Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno e à Família foi dinamizado como um local multidisciplinar com o objetivo de colmatar as necessidades de todos os intervenientes da comunidade educativa. No final do estágio, é notável a evolução dos alunos que participaram no projeto no reconhecimento do conceito e prática da mediação e na mudança, principalmente na forma como resolvem os seus conflitos. Foi ainda observado o impacto positivo da dinamização do Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno e à Família, como um lugar que necessita de uma intervenção contínua e ativa. Estes resultados mostram que é possível dotar os jovens de competências necessárias para uma intervenção eficaz ao nível da prevenção e resolução dos conflitos, permitindo promover um ambiente saudável nas escolas.

The project was carried out within the scope of the Academic Internship of the 2nd year of the master’s in education, area of specialization in Education Mediation, and aimed to understand the role of socio-educational mediation in the prevention and resolution of conflicts in the school community. To achieve this objective, a mediation program was implemented in classes at an elementary school, and based on socio-educational mediation, the mediation area was inserted in the Student and Family Support Office. As far as the program is concerned, a skills development program was created and carried out in three groups to prevent and resolve conflicts within the educational community. This program had four phases: information, training, awareness, and evaluation. The Student and Family Support Office was promoted as a multidisciplinary place with the aim of meeting the needs of all stakeholders in the educational community. At the end of the internship, the evolution of the students who participated in the project is remarkable in the recognition of the concept and practice of mediation and in the change, especially in the way they resolve their conflicts. The positive impact of the dynamization of the Student and Family Support Office was also observed, as a place that needs a continuous and active intervention. These results show that it is possible to provide young people with the necessary skills for an effective intervention in terms of conflict prevention and resolution, allowing for the promotion of a healthy environment in schools.
