produtor a nível mundial.
alto desempenho tem vindo a gerar enorme interesse. A celulose microcristalina (MCC) possui excelentes
microestrutura do compósito.
A análise inicial
Concret is the most used construction material, being widely applied in civil construction. Although the cement-based materials have excellent resistance to compression, they have some limitations and problems, such as low tensile strength and deformation capacity and cracking problems. Cellulosic-based fibers, namely sisal fibers, can be used to minimize these problems. Sisal fibers have excellent mechanical properties, non-toxicity, low cost and are highly available, with Brazil being its main world producer. However, the big problem to be overcome is the question of the durability of natural fibers. On the other hand, the use of nano/micro materials for the manufacture of high-performance composites is generating enormous interest. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) has excellent mechanical properties and high crystallinity. However, the direct application of MCC to the cementitious composite presents problems of agglomeration. Therefore, the present work has as main objective the development and characterization of cementitious composites reinforced to multiscale, with the addition of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and sisal fibers, looking for a synergistic effect, taking an innovative approach in this domain, with the study of mechanical behavior, microstructure and durability after aging in a climatic chamber. To achieve these objectives, the dispersion of MCC in water was first studied, with magnetic stirring and ultrasonication, and the addition of dispersing agents (Pluronic and CTAB). Subsequently, multiscale cement composites were produced, evaluating the influence of these additions. The improvement of MCC dispersion was achieved with the techniques employed. Multiscale composites showed the highest strength values with the lowest dosage of MCC (0.1%). The 0.1% MCC + 0.50% sisal + CTAB composite showed an increase of 24.17% in compressive strength and 18.2% in flexion at 28 days. There was an improvement in hydration, due to the better dispersion of MCC, with the improvement of the composite microstructure. Cement hydration was more regular and effective, with the gradual release of water absorbed by MCC and sisal. The multifunctionality behavior was verified, with the MCC attributing greater rigidity to the composite, and delaying the beginning of the micro cracking and the sisal to act as a bridge in the macrofissures, prolonging their propagation time. The initial analysis of durability revealed the maintenance of the resistances and the partial integrity of the sisal fiber. |
