Nowadays technology asserts itself at huge speed and in all areas, namely construction. Innovative technologies provide new methodologies with more effectiveness in the outcome of the goal achieved. In construction the use of cement is fundamental to build infrastructure, in this sense it is important to know all the information about the product, namely the setting time of the various types of cements. The measurement of the beginning and end of the setting time is measured by traditional method, by the “Vicat” methodology, in which it requires the specialized human presence to perform the test. The new technology proposed in this article is to replace the traditional methodology, having as its objectives, having as several objectives, namely, to determine the start of cement setting, to register and analyse the resistivity in the whole process. This method may allow the quantification and determination of the hydration phases of any cement with any type of additions, In this investigation, an electronic equipment called “Arduino” was used, composed of a resistivity sensor. At the beginning of the investigation, it was necessary to adjust the geometry factor of the test specimen, as well as the conditions related to the distance between electrodes and the intensity of the applied electric current The use of different types of cements, namely three different types of classes, CEM 32.5, CEM 42.5 and CEM 52.5, the presence of additions, as well as different water/blinder ratios. The investigation made it possible to evaluate a technology different from the traditional one, allowing more expeditious readings compared to the Vicat test, as well as allowing the use of additions and different Water/cement ratios as a more expeditious method in this type of work. |
