A compulsão alimentar é a
envolvidos nestes processos é a urgência negativa.
Neste sentido, a finalidade deste
Negative urgency is a dimension of impulsiveness characterized by the tendency to act hastily in situations of negative emotionality. Food compulsion is eating an unusual amount of food over a period, with loss of control and lack of compensatory behavior. This behavior may be associated with the difficulty to regulate intense emotions. In bariatric surgery patients, this compulsion makes it difficult to comply with the treatment and, in other populations, their behavior is influenced, causing other eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia). One of the mechanisms that may be involved in these processes is the negative urgency. This is a predisposition to act quickly when experiencing negative emotions, leading the individual to eat impulsively in face of intense negative emotional situations. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the negative urgency subscale in the different populations. The sample consisted of 341 participants from a community sample, 210 adolescents with obesity, 291 bariatric patients and 143 patients with a restrictive / bulimic diagnosis. The instruments used were UPPS-P, REPEAT-Q, TEFQ-21, EADS-21, EDRE, LOCES, ED-15. The results demonstrate that the UPPS-P has good psychometric properties and can be applied in isolation from the full scale. |
