Guimarães e respetivas ruas e parcelas adjacentes. Uma amostra que cujas características são inerentes
à identidade urbana e territorial do Vale do Ave.
This work deals with the effect that, visually, any property limit produces on space and, consequently, on the sociability of places. The physical features of the fences, organize and are inseparable from the levels of permeability they generate, intrinsically intervening in interpersonal relationships. The study was carried out along the national road EN206, between Vila Nova de Famalicão and Guimarães and respective streets and adjacent plots. A sample whose characteristics are inherent to the urban and territorial identity of Vale do Ave. Through the analysis of two samples of the territorial strip, that exemplify both vastly and poorly urbanized areas, are identified issues suggested by the permeability of their property boundaries.Themes that interfere both inside and outside the properties, on the public road, altering interpersonal relationships in a territory of great typological diversity. Crossing the analysis with work developed on the understanding and the effect that barriers create, are generated principles of approach to property boundaries that try to improve the urban environment. The main objective of the investigation is to present an understanding that considers the permeability theme in the characterization of the places and, above all, assigns them a transformative potential. The research works as a development of a theme of small consideration while the design of a project, how the action on properties boundaries and their permeability levels can contribute to improve the quality of the urban environment and, desirably, community life. |
