Estórias performativas: projeto de Intervenção na cidade de Guimarães

Abstract

Depois de uma pesquisa sobre eventos culturais em Guimarães, “Estórias Performativas” surge como projeto no âmbito do Mestrado em Comunicação, Arte e Cultura da Universidade do Minho, juntamente com o apoio de outras infraestruturas, como a Câmara Municipal de Guimarães e o Museu Alberto Sampaio. “Estórias Performativas” foi um evento de percurso que teve como base de criação os mitos e as lendas da cidade de Guimarães. O projeto propôs-se a reavivar estórias da comunidade vimaranense, com o objetivo de não existir uma perda desta parte cultural por parte da comunidade mais jovem da cidade. Foi imprescindível para o projeto que houvesse uma ponte de ligação entre o passado e o presente da cultura vimaranense. Todo o evento foi idealizado para ser concretizado por uma geração de novos artistas, ou artistas que se estão a relançar no mercado, e que de alguma forma estão ligados à cidade. Artistas estes que ou nasceram em Guimarães, ou adotaram a cidade como sua. Existiram quatro pontos de paragem no mapa da cidade, e em cada um deles pudemos assistir a uma representação artística diferente dos vários mitos ligados à cidade, desde “Santa Margarida protetora das grávidas” ao “Cutileiro”, passando por mais estórias. A partir de fotografia, moda e performance, cada artista criou uma experiência sensorial para que o público se sentisse mergulhado em diferentes sensações, conduzida através de uma abordagem contemporânea e simbolista das estórias por eles retratadas. A realização do evento teve lugar no dia 22 de julho de 2017, na cidade de Guimarães, com inicio ás 21h no primeiro ponto de paragem a Igreja de S. Miguel. Neste relatório estará descrita a origem do projeto, todo o seu processo até à concretização e uma análise do resultado final.

After researching cultural projects in Guimarães, “Estórias Performativas” (in English, "Performative Stories") emerges as a project within the Master's Degree in Communication, Arts and Culture at the University of Minho, along with the support of other infrastructures, such as the Guimarães City Council and the Alberto Sampaio Museum. "Estórias Performativas" was a event based on the myths and legends of the city of Guimarães. The project proposed to revive stories of the Guimarães community, in order to preserve them and not let the youngest in the city’s community forget their cultural heritage. It was essential for the project that there was a bridge between the past and the present of the city’s culture. The whole event was conceptualized to be performed by a generation of new artists or artists that are relaunching in the market, who are somehow connected to the city. Artists who were either born in Guimarães, or adopted the city as their own. There were four stops on the city map, and in each one of them we were able to watch a different artistic representation of the various myths related to the city, such as "Santa Margarida protector of the pregnant women" and "Cutileiro", along other stories. Through photography, fashion and performance each artist created a sensory experience so that the audience felt immersed in different sensations, conducted through a contemporary and symbolic approach to the stories protrayed. The performance of the show took place on July 22nd, 2017 in the city of Guimarães starting at 21h00 at the first stop, São Miguel Church. In this reflection will be described the origin of the project, all its process until the concretization and an analysis of the final result.
