Avaliação dos consumos energéticos e respectivos custos nas instalações de uma organização militar situada na região de Manaus – Am

Abstract

Uma das áreas de maior preocupação para os decisores públicos, na sua tentativa de assegurar um desenvolvimento sustentável dos países, relaciona-se com o aumento crescente do consumo de energia. Uma solução que tem vindo a ser proposta para lidar com esse aumento prende-se com a implementação de medidas que contribuam para aumentar a eficiência no uso da energia e reduzir as emissões de gases com efeito de estufa. Dado o peso relativo cada vez mais significativo dos edifícios em termos de consumo de energia, têm concentrado uma especial atenção dos investigadores no que respeita à implementação daquelas medidas. O princípio subjacente a esta ação tem a ver com a utilização de menos energia para aquecimento, arrefecimento, iluminação e a utilização de outros aparelhos elétricos sem, contudo, comprometer a saúde e o conforto dos ocupantes dos edifícios. O presente trabalho foi voltado para o caso da eficiência energética nos edifícios, procurando identificar as potencialidades decorrentes da aplicação de determinadas medidas que contribuem para o aumento da eficiência energética. A implementação destas medidas implica que várias etapas sejam percorridas para que sejam efetivamente alcançados os resultados esperados. Assim, o presente trabalho de investigação teve como objetivo avaliar o consumo energético e respetivos custos das instalações de uma Organização Militar (OM) situada na região de Manaus – AM, Brasil. Simultaneamente, pretendeu-se estimar o impacto de diferentes medidas de eficiência energética ao nível de consumo de energia e seu custo final. A relevância da gestão da energia está em sensibilizar as pessoas da suma importância para atingir de modo coerente a eficiência na utilização de energia e, dessa forma, contribuir para uma redução dos impactos negativos sobre o ambiente. Apesar de se tratar de um estudo exploratório, os resultados obtidos indicam que, com a aplicação de medidas de eficiência energética no edifício em análise, foi possível reduzir o consumo da eletricidade em cerca de 21,46%, no período de 2015 a 2016 e reduzir Gases com Efeito de Estufa (GEE) em 15%. Não obstante estes resultados, deve ter-se em consideração que melhorar a eficiência energética dos edifícios implica atuar em diferentes dimensões, tais como, programas de conscientização para os usuários dos edifícios, melhorar a gestão energética dos edifícios, adoção de desenvolvimentos técnicos e uso de energia renovável.

One of the areas of greatest concern to public decision-makers in their attempt to ensure the sustainable development of countries is related to the growing increase in energy consumption. One solution that has been proposed to deal with this increase is the implementation of measures that contribute to increasing the efficiency of energy use and reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Given the increasingly significant weight of buildings in terms of energy consumption, researchers have been directing their attention to the implementation of energy efficiency measures on buildings. The basic principle underlying this action has to do with the use of less energy for heating, cooling, lighting and the use of other electrical appliances without, however, compromising the health and comfort of occupants of buildings. The present work was focused on the case of energy efficiency in buildings, seeking to identify the potential arising from the application of certain measures that contribute to the increase of energy efficiency. The implementation of these measures implies that several steps are taken in order to effectively achieve the expected results. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the energy consumption and respective costs of the facilities of a Military Organization (OM) located in the region of Manaus - AM, Brazil. At the same time, it was intended to estimate the impact of different energy efficiency measures on the level of energy consumption and its final cost. The importance of energy efficiency management lies in raising the awareness of people of the utmost importance of increasing energy efficiency in buildings and thus contribute to a reduction of negative impacts on the environment. Although this is an exploratory study, the results indicate that, with the application of energy efficiency measures in the building under analysis, it was possible to reduce electricity consumption by around 21.46% in the period from 2015 to 2016 and reduce GHG emissions by 15%. Notwithstanding these results, it should be taken into account that improving the energy efficiency of buildings implies actions in different dimensions, such as awareness programs for building users, improved energy management of buildings, adoption of technical developments and use of renewable energy.
