5º graus do Ensino Básico Articulado e Ensino Básico Supletivo, e do 6º grau Complementar
Articulado).
aprendizagem do instrumento. This Report was developed under the Traineeship Course taken on the 2nd year of the Masters degree in Music Teaching. It integrates a research on didactic and pedagogical intervention, which sought to reflect on the contribution of the violin collective teaching, using repertoire chosen by the students as an agent for motivating the learning of the instrument. The study methodology is integrated within the paradigms of qualitative research. The research took place in a real school environment and was operationalized using a convenience sample consisting of 15 elements (corresponding to students from the 2nd , 3rd , 4th, 5th and 6th grades of the Secondary Course from the Portuguese music education system). The data collection instruments used in the study were a questionnaire applied to the sample in the pre-intervention, in order to ascertain their musical preferences and motivation for practicing the violin; another questionnaire applied to the sample, after attending the collective violin class, with which it was intended to derive if the selection of repertoire chosen by the sample and if the teaching methodology have influenced their motivation; and a third questionnaire, aimed at the parents of the sample constituents, which intended to gather evidence of their opinion, regarding the teaching methodology implemented to their children and the level of motivation that it might have brought (to) them. At the Interventional phase of the study, the violin collective teaching methodology was implemented, and the repertoire worked during the considered cycle of classes was selected according to the musical preferences expressed by the sample. After the cycle of classes, a four day project followed, that ended with a concert held on July 4, as a part of " 5as à noite no Museu " at Paços dos Duques de Bragança, Guimarães. The results were interpreted according to a qualitative descriptive reference. It has been possible to conclude, without pretense of generalizations, that both collective teaching methodology, and the choice of repertoire have contributed to foster motivation to learn the instrument. |
