A comunidade chinesa em Portugal: acerca de atividades económicas, associativismo, integração e a segunda geração

Abstract

Pretende-se com este trabalho apresentar vários aspetos relevantes relacionados com a comunidade chinesa em Portugal, para um melhor entendimento da mesma. Na perseguição de tal desiderato, serão abordados o contexto da imigração; o empreendedorismo e a economia do enclave étnico, com foco nos três pilares económicos tradicionais; o associativismo e as organizações relativamente influentes; a realidade de inserção da comunidade chinesa na sociedade de acolhimento e questões sobre identidade cultural e a educação da segunda geração. Além da observação descritiva, fundamentada em dados e informações obtidos em obras literárias e uma série de estudos empíricos desencadeados nas duas regiões com maior presença dos chineses, Lisboa e Varziela, apresento ainda várias sugestões com o intuito de fomentar a sustentabilidade do desenvolvimento económico da comunidade chinesa e estimular uma melhor integração social deste grupo étnico. Por fim, é de lembrar que a integração é um processo mútuo, requer não só esforço por parte dos imigrantes, mas também um ambiente favorável à integração, criado pela sociedade acolhedora.

The purpose of this thesis is to give a general presentation of various aspects related to the Chinese Community in Portugal for a better understanding of it. The topics addressed in this thesis include the context of immigration; entrepreneurship of Chinese immigrants and the ethnic enclave economy with special focus on the three traditional economic pillars; relatively influential associations and organizations; the current situation of social insertion of the Chinese community in the hosting society and questions about cultural identity and education of the second generation. The descriptive observation is mostly based on data and information obtained through literary works and several empirical studies developed in two regions densely populated by Chinese immigrants, Lisbon and Varziela. In addition, several suggestions are proposed in this paper with a view to promote sustainable economic development of the Chinese community and to encourage a better social integration of this ethnic group. Finally, it is vital to remember that integration is a mutual process, which not only requires effort on the part of immigrants but also a favorable environment created by the hosting society.

本论文旨在从不同方面介绍葡萄牙华人群体，包括移民背景、华人创业 事业和聚居区族裔经济尤其是三大传统经济支柱、影响力较大的华人社团及其 重要性、华人群体在当地社会的融入现状和二代移民的文化身份及教育现状。 论文中使用的部分数据和信息来自于文献资料，更多的则是通过笔者在 里斯本和波尔图这两大华人聚居区进行实地调研得出的结果。论文除了对葡萄 牙华人侨民的经济发展和社会融入现状进行了客观论述以外，还提出了一系列 建议，希望能够促进华人经济的持续发展和更深层次的社会融入。同时，本文 中还指出社会融入不仅仅需要移民本身做出努力，也需要葡萄牙当地社会创造 有利的融入环境。
