Modelação espaço-temporal : uma aplicação a dados ambientais

Abstract

A precipitação é um dos processos físicos mais importantes, tendo um papel fundamental em várias áreas relacionadas com a gestão da água e dos recursos hídricos, bem como em sectores importantes da actividade económica, como por exemplo a agricultura, a indústria e o turismo. Verificase assim uma contínua necessidade de obter modelos determinísticos e/ou estocásticos que têm em vista enfrentar o desafio da estimação da precipitação, num dado ponto geográfico ou numa dada região, com rigor cada vez maior. O presente trabalho é o resultado da análise do comportamento temporal e espacial da precipitação, totalizada mensalmente, observada numa rede udométrica constituída por um total de 19 estações de amostragem na região da bacia hidrográfica do rio Ave, localizada no Noroeste de Portugal, entre os anos de 1931 e 2008. Tem como principal objectivo obter estimativas de precipitação pontual e em área, ou seja, um valor médio da quantidade de chuva que cai sobre um local ou uma certa região geográfica num determinado período de tempo. Assim, o presente estudo visa a identificação de modelos que possibilitem a obtenção dessas medições (re)construindo a distribuição espaço-temporal da precipitação associada a intervalos mensais, na bacia hidrográfica do rio Ave. Para isso, clarificam-se conceitos e introduzem-se as metodologias mais frequentemente adoptadas no âmbito da interpolação de fenómenos espacialmente distribuídos. Efectua-se uma exposição teórica básica dos processos aleatórios e da metodologia de Kriging. Por fim, aplicam-se estas metodologias aos dados disponíveis de precipitação da bacia hidrográfica do rio Ave.

Precipitation is one of the most important physical processes, it has a fundamental role in different areas related to the water management, namely in important areas of the economical activity, for example, in the agriculture, in the population welfare and in the hydrographic resources. In this way it’s necessary to get physical and statistical models in order to face the challenge of measuring the precipitation in a more and more rigorous way, because good calculation of rainfull is a decisive element in an accurate weather forecast. The place an time precipitation measurement of a geographical area, in particular, is indispensable on hydric balance calculation for the indirect estimate of the river flow and to the development of the streams volume study. It´s still essencial to the environmental diverse phenomena, among them the variation of the water quality in the river basin. This work is the result of the place analysis of precipitation, done monthly, in the udometric/pluviometric net consisting on a total of 19 sampling stations in the Ave basin, between 1931 and 2008 and the main purpose is to average the quantity of precipitation in area, that is, the average of rain falling on a certain geographical region during a determined period of time. Therefore, this study aims to identify the models that allow to obtain those measurements rebuilding the place distribution of monthly precipitation in Ave basin. Thus, we clarify concepts and we introduce the mostly used methodologies to the interpolation of the place distribution phenomena. After doing a basic analysis of the random processes and Kriging methodology. Finally, we use this methodology to the available data on the Ave basin precipitation.
