A educação do oficialato castrense no reino unido de Portugal, Brasil e Algarves no regulamento de 1816 do Real Colégio Militar da Luz

Abstract

Com a primeira invasão napoleónica de Portugal, em 1808, o Rei e a Corte deslocaram-se para o Brasil, a partir de onde, em 1815, viria a ser fundado o Reino Unido de Portugal e do Brasil e Algarves. Para contribuir para a consolidação deste novo Reino Unido, D. João VI, em 1816, no regulamento do Real Colégio Militar da Luz, lançou as bases de uma educação conjunta do oficialato castrense que viesse a servir quer no Exército português quer no Exército brasileiro. O presente artigo investiga o que nesse regulamento se estipula quanto ao estatuto dos professores e dos alunos, bem como quanto ao plano de estudos e a outras actividades educativas

At the time of the first napoleonic invasion of Portugal, in 1808, both the King and the Court moved to Brazil, from where, in 1815, was founded the United Kingdom of Portugal and Brazil and Algarves. To contribute to the consolidation of the new United Kingdom, King John the VI, in 1816, in the reglement of the Royal Military College of Luz, launched the foundation of a joint education of the officers that would serve both the portuguese and the brazilian armies. This article investigates what, in this reglement, was stipulated about the status of teachers and students, as well as to the curricula and other educacional activities.
