oficial.
A colaboração
As
The research undertaken explores the importance and evolution of music education in Guimarães, Portugal. It continues with an investigation into the different contexts of music education, including formal education, non-formal education and informal education, both in official and non-official settings. The research context of this study addresses the multifaceted relationship between music, teaching and educational structures in the municipality of Guimarães. This connection is explored through the researcher's personal experience as a student in different music schools and teaching methods, as well as his passion for music and the importance of music education in different socio-cultural contexts. The analysis also considers the historical evolution of music education in Portugal, including political and educational changes that have shaped the way music is taught and learned in formal, non-formal and informal settings. Furthermore, the study search to understand how musical institutions in Guimarães influence the professional and vocational achievement of students and play a role in the musical education of children and young people in the region. By addressing these issues, the author aims to highlight the diversity of educational approaches towards music and the importance of adapting them to the cultural and social specificities of each context. In this multiple case study, the descriptive approach is used to analyse the contribution of educational institutions in the musical training of young musicians in the municipality of Guimarães. Through an extensive literature review and empirical research in institutions selected according to the type of teaching used, the descriptive research sought to understand facts by comparing, classifying, analysing and interpreting events and their influences. To ensure academic quality, multiple sources and techniques of data collection are used, including student and teacher questionnaires and interviews with the schools' administrative directors and pedagogical directors. Qualitative research focuses on credibility, but also includes the collection of quantitative data, such as the number of students enrolled in schools where music is taught. Data analysis thus allows us to identify the perspectives, expectations and motivations of young musicians, as well as similarities and differences in the pedagogical practices of the institutions studied. In this context, the results obtained show that the musical institutions of Guimarães present a remarkable pedagogical diversity and a commitment, dedicated to offering quality musical education, which highlights the local culture and identity. These institutions constantly seek to improve their conditions and infrastructure to provide a suitable and stimulating learning environment for students. Inter-institutional collaboration plays a key role in fortifying Music Education in the region, facilitating the development of joint projects and the promotion of quality music education. Importantly, the research did not establish superiority between official or unofficial education, as each presents unique features and benefits, both geared towards the provision of high quality Music Education tailored to the needs and interests of students. Music schools, regardless of their official or unofficial context, thus play a vital role in the personal and musical development of students and the region. Ultimately, this study emphasizes the importance of innovative and effective pedagogical practices, the promotion of a student-centred collaborative learning environment and the continuous search for partnerships for the advancement of music education. Furthermore, the results of this research can be useful to inform and inspire Music Education policies and practices in other regions of Portugal and in other countries, highlighting the relevance of adapting educational approaches to specific socio-cultural contexts and promoting music education. |
