Efetividade de uma política educativa: um estudo sobre os bolsistas da Reitoria do IFRN

Abstract

Dada a relevância da manutenção de políticas públicas educativas que visam democratizar o ensino no Brasil e contribuir para a permanência do aluno, sobretudo os mais vulneráveis, o presente estudo tem como objetivo conhecer e analisar o programa de apoio à formação estudantil dos bolsistas que atuam na reitoria do IFRN, desenvolvido pela Assistência Estudantil, e como ele impacta na vida acadêmica dos discentes. Como fontes de estudos, foram utilizados questionários e entrevistas aplicados aos alunos, ex-alunos e assistente social responsável pelo programa oferecido, além de análises de documentos institucionais. A Assistência Estudantil como Política Social de Direito exprime características históricas e políticas provenientes da expansão de políticas educacionais do ensino no Brasil. Com relação à política desenvolvida no âmbito do IFRN os discentes consideram que ela desempenha significativo papel na permanência destes na instituição para que possam concluir o curso, como também reconhecem que os programas precisam ser ampliados para atenderem a uma parcela de alunos hoje excluída, devido as limitações orçamentárias da instituição.

Given the relevance of maintaining public policies that aim to democratize education in Brazil and contribute to the retention of students, especially the most vulnerable, the present study aims to understand and analyse the student scholarship program for scholarship holders who work in the rectory of the IFRN developed by Student Assistance, and how they impact the academic lives of students. As study sources, interviews were used, applied to students, former students and the social worker responsible for the program offered, in addition to analysis of institutional documents. Student Assistance as a Social Policy of Law expresses historical and political characteristics arising from the expansion of educational policies in Brazil. Regarding the policy developed within the scope of IFRN, students consider that it plays a significant role in their permanence at the institution so that they can complete the course and, they also recognize that the programs need to be expanded to serve a portion of students that are currently excluded, due to account of the institution's budgetary limitations.
