Da expectativa à realidade: uma análise do estágio em tradução na AP Portugal

Abstract

O presente relatório tem como objetivo descrever e refletir sobre a minha experiência de estágio online de seis meses na empresa AP | Portugal, onde atuei como estagiário no período de 1 de fevereiro a 31 de julho de 2023. O estágio foi parte integrante do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue pela Universidade do Minho. No início do presente relatório, haverá uma introdução ao contexto da empresa e dos objetivos do estágio. Em seguida, será apresentada uma descrição detalhada da empresa, incluindo a sua história, os seus produtos/serviços e a sua estrutura organizacional. A secção seguinte aborda as atividades que desenvolvi ao longo do estágio, descrevendo os projetos nos quais participei, as tarefas que realizei e as ferramentas que utilizei, bem como o período inicial de formação fornecido pela empresa através do seu programa pedagógico intitulado AP | Academy. Para além de outras tarefas desenvolvidas ao longo do estágio em geral, este relatório focará ainda um estudo de caso concreto, que consistiu numa tarefa atribuída pela entidade de acolhimento após solicitação minha, numa tentativa de explorar em termos práticos o género da tradução jurídica. Apresentarei detalhadamente os desafios e dificuldades que enfrentei nesse estudo de caso. O presente relatório inclui ainda uma contextualização teórica de alguns conceitos relevantes para as atividades realizadas no estágio, tentando evidenciar a conexão entre a teoria estudada em sala de aula e sua aplicação prática no ambiente profissional. Na secção de resultados e conclusões são apresentados os resultados obtidos durante o estágio, as lições aprendidas e os impactos da minha contribuição para a empresa. Também são feitas reflexões sobre o desenvolvimento das competências pessoais e profissionais ao longo do estágio. Em suma, este relatório pretende oferecer um panorama completo da minha experiência de estágio na AP | Portugal, destacando as atividades realizadas, os desafios superados e os conhecimentos adquiridos, experiência essa que desempenhou um papel significativo no meu desenvolvimento profissional e acadêmico.

This report aims to describe my online internship experience at AP | Portugal, where I worked as a trainee from 1 February to 31 July 2023. The internship was part of the Master's program in Translation and Multilingual Communication at Universidade do Minho. At the beginning of this report, there will be an introduction to the context of the company and the objectives of the internship. This will be followed by a detailed description of the company, including its history, products/services and organisational structure. The next section looks at the activities I carried out during my internship, describing the projects I took part in, the tasks I carried out and the tools I used. This report includes a case study carried out during the internship, which consisted of a task assigned by the host organisation, the subject of which falls within the genre of legal translation. The challenges and difficulties I faced in this case study will also be presented in detail. The report continues with a theoretical contextualisation of the concepts relevant to the activities carried out during the internship, highlighting the connection between the theory studied in the classroom and its practical application in the professional environment. The results and conclusions section presents the results obtained during the internship, the lessons learned and the impact of my contributions to the company. Reflections are also made on developing personal and professional skills throughout the internship. In short, this report offers a complete overview of my internship experience at AP | Portugal, highlighting the activities carried out, the challenges overcome and the knowledge acquired, for this experience played a significant role in my professional and academic development.
