Abstract

Worldwide, there is an enormous need for concrete infrastructure repair and rehabilitation. Climate change is also accelerating the deterioration of those infrastructures, particularly due to carbonation-induced damage caused by increasing CO2 concentration, reducing its serviceable life spans. Early repair and maintenance of existing concrete infrastructure are thus essential to prevent further deterioration and exponentially rising costs.
