dc.description.abstract | The development of interactive systems requires tools and knowledge from a number of domains. The combination of Software Engineering with Human Factors aspects assists designers and engineers in designing error free, safe systems for humans’ operators. This paper explores the use of multidimensional knowledge representation as means to narrow the gap between design and implementation of interactive systems. Two models are discussed for delivering heavyweight ontologies, by the means of Ontology–Driven Development. This might enable the development of software artifacts, with potential of improving system specification, information sharing and reusability. The theoretical approach is discussed; a literature revision in the topic is included, along with taxonomy enabling the description of user and device’s characteristics.
