By presenting the existing studies on the ageing academy, and the effects and measures to address this issue, it can be assumed that tackling the problem of the ageing academy is a complex endeavour that requires policy and institutional measures sensible to a diversity of variables that represent the productivity of academics and researchers, as well as the sustainability of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).por
