e composição do agregado familiar. After these last two years, the changes that the pandemic brought about at work and in labor relations are undeniable. This dissertation sought to analyze the effects of teleworking and determine the intensity with which these effects are reproduced on physical and mental health, professional (dis)satisfaction and the conciliation between work and family life, also seeking to determine and capture the differences between the different teleworking regimes, that is, between the exclusive teleworking regime and between the hybrid teleworking regime. In addition, we sought to understand whether teleworking corresponded to the expectations of teleworkers, as well as to find out what the predominant values and expectations were regarding (tele)working. If the performance of a professional activity had, in the past, a manifestly face-to-face character, this one, as a result of the health impositions resulting from Covid-19, acquires, from then on, a digital feature. Work undergoes a process of segmentation and reconfiguration, in which telework is assumed as an alternative model, carrying with it new opportunities and challenges that need to be problematized. From the effects on physical and mental health, to professional (dis)satisfaction as well as the challenges faced with reconciling personal/professional life, the theoretical contributions and empirical evidence available on telework do not meet unanimity. Faced with the uncertainty that this modality raises, as well as the resulting effects that it carries, this dissertation seeks, among the various existing investigations on the subject, to contribute to the debate and deepening of teleworking, problematizing its effects. In methodological terms, this dissertation follows the quantitative research design, supported by the reformulation of the questionnaire survey used, in 2020, in the project “Return to work after COVID 19: (Re)centering of values?”, coordinated by Ana Paula Marques. As it was possible to replicate that reformulated questionnaire in 2022, the results indicate that, despite the changes that, from the outset, the pandemic brought about in the labor market, both in labor relations and also in terms of future expectations for the future, the results of this dissertation indicate that (tele)workers do not consider that the pandemic has had effects either on their physical and mental health, or on the conciliation between professional and family life, and on job (dis)satisfaction, safeguarding, however, some specificities along with both the dimensions under analysis and also according to gender, age group, marital status as well as the composition of the household. |
