dc.description.abstract | Literary studies favor contact between different kinds of knowledge that intervene in works of fiction (linguistic, historical, sociocultural...), enhance critical thinking, interpretation, and interaction. All these procedures are stimulated by the dialogic and comprehensive process of reading, which implies commitment of oneself, curiosity, and attention to the other. For this reason, literary texts offer themselves as a propitious terrain for the training of any hermeneutic and relational practice. Literary reading has been used as the signature method of Narrative Medicine, an emergent field of training and practice in health that advocates the necessary complementarity between scientific knowledge and an approach that values the singularity of each patient. Starting from an explanation of the notion of literary reading and by investigating its foundations in the writers themselves, we will show how they help us think about the act of reading as a construction and as an open play to the experience of thought. In this path, three concepts are articulated: that of “material imagination” (Bachelard), the one of “literary principle” (Citton) and the one of “active semiology" (Barthes), with challenge interdisciplinarity and a particular interface with medicine and ethics. We will illustrate this with an anthological work conceived as a reading laboratory for reflection on health. | por |
