electroestimulação têxtil, a prata.
aprendizagem a longo prazo. Deriving from an interest in prostheses manufactured by 3D printing, as wearable parts standing for an aesthetic discourse of the body itself – and motivated by the phenomenon that is the growing number of amputees in the world, compared to the tiny portion that has responsive prostheses- this research arises from the question: can the intersection between Fashion Design and Textile Engineering generate new solutions for the use of prosthetic limbs, which meet the purpose described? Thus, the methodological strategy adopted were exploratory studies and action research, given that it was intended to analyze what is being developed in the aforementioned areas, with applicability in the Assistive Technology segment. That said, a wearable and modular 3D structure was developed, integrated with the prosthesis, which embodies the prosthetic limb through Fashion Design. On the other hand, a feedback system with relevant textile devices was also developed, consisting of a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor that capturethe force and temperature used in a handshake, and in turn, by a system of electrostimulation also based on textiles, informs the “user” that the handshake is taking place. In line with the above, the textile pressure sensor has graphene nanoplates as its active material, and the textile electrostimulation electrode uses silver. The aforementioned smart textiles were developed and validated in terms of their structural, morphological, physical-chemical and electrical characteristics. The pressure sensor with 5% active material in the fabric was chosen because it had the lowest coefficient of variation and greatest sensitivity, and the electrode made of mesh substrate was chosen because it had the best relationship between sensory comfort and electrode-skin impedance. The sensors were inserted into that system and tested with amputees and non-amputees. As main results, we can conclude that the developed system provides information that is easy to understand and can contribute to promoting better communication between users and their surroundings, and with themselves. As a future perspective, it is intended to analyze the integration of the developed feedback system to the developed modular part through a long-term use study. |
