O imaginário social pós-moderno: segmentações entre culturas astrológicas tradicionais e atuais

Abstract

O interesse pela astrologia como estudo da atualidade prende-se com a diversidade e a heterogeneidade da comunidade astrológica. A adivinhação é intrínseca ao comportamento humano e ao pensamento mágico. O homem atual insere-se numa sucessão milenar que sempre tentou conhecer o futuro. Sob a visão atual, é possível que a astrologia tenha ressurgido como cultura linguística e interpretativa, em prenúncio de uma nova era. A aproximação desta linguagem com a psicologia e a síntese humanista ocorrida neste período levou a uma fusão de elementos de ambas as práticas. Porém, o advento da astrologia moderna, mais psicológica, em particular a análise arquetípica junguiana, levou ao distanciamento de muitos astrólogos da objetividade astrológica para uma subjetividade simbólica de arquétipos. A fabulação da narrativa astrológica revela-se atualmente, menos preditiva e mais humanista. Nesta dissertação, é analisada a comunidade astrológica atual e o seu estatuto epistemológico. O propósito não será expor aqui toda aprendizagem da astrologia, tarefa que requer longos e complexos tratados, mas sim aprofundar a temática em particular e a sua significação, assim como a exploração do imaginário social na pós-modernidade. Para a dignificação da astrologia, é importante fazer uma divulgação correta e bem fundamentada. Para o efeito, serão analisadas algumas correntes teosóficas e iluministas, bem como outras expressões de ocultismo e movimentos ocorridos no século XX, com enfoque no New Age. São ainda abordados alguns argumentos discutidos entre a comunidade astrológica e académica, a fim de apresentar os atuais desafios desta prática.

The interest in astrology as a current study, relates to the diversity and heterogeneity of the astrological community. Divination is intrinsic to human behaviour and magical thinking. Modern man is part of an age-old succession that has always tried to know the future. From today's perspective, it is possible that astrology has re-emerged as a linguistic and interpretative culture, heralding a New Age. The approach of this language with psychology and the humanist synthesis that occurred in this period, led to a fusion of elements from both practices. However, the advent of modern astrology, more psychological, in particularly Jungian archetypal analysis, led to the distancing of many astrologers, from astrological objectivity to a symbolic subjectivity of archetypes. The fabulation of the astrological narrative is currently revealed to be less predictive and more humanistic. In this dissertation, I analyse the current astrological community and its epistemological status. The purpose will not be to expose here all learning of astrology, a task that requires long and complex processes, but rather to delve into the theme and its significance, as well as the exploration of the social imaginary in postmodernity. For the dignification of astrology, it is important to make a correct and well-founded dissemination. To this end, some theosophical and enlightenment currents will be analysed, as well as other expressions of occultism and movements that occurred in the XX century, with a focus on New Age. Some arguments discussed among the astrological and academic community will also be addressed to present the current challenges of this practice.
