This document follows the development of a tool to support the construction of Waste Identification Diagrams, within the scope of the dissertation project of the Master of Systems Engineering. The realization of this project focused on two major themes, the design and development of a tool to represent WID, but also its application in a real case, in a production system of a textile company. The first phase of this project consisted of the study and development of the tool. This was developed based on Waste Identification Diagrams, that is, the tool includes a three-dimensional graphic representation, the ability to create more than one graph, so that there can be a comparison between workstations, with a simple user interface. and, above all, that generates graphs automatically with just the introduction of some data. In a second phase, this tool was put to the test with real data from a real production system. In this production system, two jobs were analyzed, Twists and Continuous. In Twists we have a takt time of 720min, a station time of 1882min; a setup time of 85min and a WIP of 2000kg. On Continuous, we have a takt time of 720min, a station time of 6535min; a setup time of 200min and a WIP of 2000kg. Finally, the Waste Identification Diagrams methodology is a form of representation to present results about a productive flow and, thus, obtain a better understanding of the presented results. It is a tool that allows a better comparison between several production flows. Based on this methodology, combining the tool developed in this project, it can be concluded that the representation of this type of diagrams becomes even simpler. |
