A engenharia climática,
recorrer a métodos aparentemente radicais.
In the context of increasing pollution, concerns about climate change become imperative. The solution aimed at reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and reducing emissions, is far from being a current practice, despite all the agreements. Thus, the climate problem is associated with social and human issues that interfere with possible alternatives to solving the problem. Climate engineering, namely Solar Geoengineering, is a technology publicised as a cheap and easy-to-use solution, but it is not without problems that could interfere with the Planet in an uncontrollable way. This work seeks to confront arguments against and in favour of the use of solar Geoengineering as a complement to the mitigation of climate change. There is still no consensus on this aspect, but it would be important that we did not need to resort to apparently radical methods. It would actually be preferable for humans to pass through the Planet without altering it in a definitive way. |
