Taking into account one of the contemporary trends in publishing for children dedicated to the object-book, interactive book, movable books, or toy books, this article aims to reflect on editions that are graphically distinct from the traditional book, targeted to pre-readers (including babies) and early readers and are dedicated to retelling the short story Puss in Boots, by Charles Perrault, universally disseminated since 1697. This article aims to make known and reflect on the main singularities of these books, or these verbal-iconic and graphic reconfigurations, of varied authorship and chronologically dispersed, mainly based on the exploration of the materiality of the book object. We intend to affirm the relevance of these artefacts, very seductive in visual and sensorial terms, in the process of early approaches to books and reading; especially the case in ancestral stories, given their potential in the promotion of interventionist and interactive live contact with the book object. |
