O traje no tempo da festa: uma breve análise à Festa da Bugiada e Mouriscada de Sobrado

Abstract

A presente dissertação contempla uma análise aos figurinos da Festa Bugiada e Mouriscada de Sobrado. Esta festividade estrutura-se com base em elementos e materiais simbólicos sobre os quais repousa a sua capacidade celebrativa. Assim como a música e a dança, o vestuário é essencial na atribuição de estatutos, na definição de papéis e expectativas dos participantes da comunidade, contribuindo para a estruturação da atividade performativa e teatral da mesma. Destaca-se, neste estudo, a importância dos figurinos alusivos aos dois grupos que protagonizam a Festa Bugiada e Mouriscada, os Bugios e Mouriscos, por conterem elementos-chave para a construção da narrativa da festa. Estes figurinos são ferramentas de comunicação, que apresentam os símbolos necessários para o entendimento da festa. Situam-se a nível temporal através do design, eventualmente influenciados por tendências, que podem modificar-se ao longo dos anos. Também é analisada a relação construída na comunidade de Sobrado com os figurinos da festa, bem como todo o processo relativo ao seu desenvolvimento, que continua a ser transmitido de geração em geração. Desta forma, este trabalho propõe-se a investigar o vestuário utilizado na Festa Bugiada e Mouriscada. É seguida uma ordem cronológica traçada com base em documentos e em relatos dos residentes de Sobrado, obtidos através das informações e observações da investigadora durante o trabalho de campo. São analisadas questões como: a evolução dos figurinos ao longo do tempo, a indispensabilidade deste elemento matéria e o seu simbolismo, essencial para a construção dos tempos e espaços nas performances apresentadas em cena, assim como nas relações sociais da comunidade de Sobrado. O estudo é conduzido mediante o recurso de metodologia qualitativa, que inclui entrevistas e observações realizadas na freguesia de Sobrado, e finaliza com a apresentação dos desenhos correspondentes aos figurinos, realizados pela pesquisadora. As informações obtidas ao longo deste estudo permitiram concluir que a Festa Bugiada e Mouriscada não seria a mesma sem os figurinos, que sustentam grande parte da narrativa e comunicação da festa, dinâmica identificada também com a mesma relevância nas relações sociais dos que residem em Sobrado.

The present dissertation contemplates an analysis of costumes of the Bugiada and Mouriscada festivity, in Sobrado. This festivity is structured on the basis of symbolic elements and materials that sustain its ability to be celebrative. As well as music and dance, garments are essential in the attribution of statutes, in the definition of roles and expectations of participants and of the community, contributing to the structuring of its performative and theatrical activity. This work highlights the importance of costumes allusive to the two groups that play the main roles in the Bugiada and Mouriscada festivity, the Bugios and the Mouriscos, for containing key elements for the construction of the festivity. These costumes are communication tools, which present the symbols necessary for the understanding of the festivity. They are located at the temporal level through design, eventually influenced by trends, which can change over the years. It is also analyzed the relationship built in the community of Sobrado with the costumes of the festivity, as well as the whole process related to its development, which continues to be transmitted down from generation to generation. Thus, this work aims to investigate the garments used in the Bugiada and Mouriscada festivity. A chronological order is followed based on documents and reports from the residents of Sobrado, obtained through the information and observations of the researcher during the fieldwork. Questions such as: the evolution of costumes over time, the indispensability of this material element and its symbolism, essential for the construction of times and spaces in the performances presented on stage, as well as in the social relations of the Sobrado community, are analyzed. The study is conducted using qualitative methodology, which includes interviews and observations made in the parish of Sobrado, finalizing with the presentation of the drawings corresponding to the costumes, carried out by the researcher. The information obtained throughout this study led to the conclusion that the Bugiada and Mouriscada festivity would not be the same without the costumes, which supports much of the narrative and communication of the festivity, dynamics also identified with the same relevance in the social relations of those who reside in Sobrado.
