Scale short version (UWES-9), Escala do Compromisso Organizacional e Organizational Climate Scale
short version (CLIOR).
compromisso organizacional, t(491) = 2.47, p = .014, d = 0.226, à exceção do compromisso calculativo,
t(491) = -0.96, p = .338, d = -0.088.
compromisso organizacional. Work engagement and organizational commitment are important concepts when it comes to the organizational world. An exploratory study was carried out to understand whether there are differences in the levels of work engagement and organizational commitment between small and medium sized enterprises (SME) and large enterprises (LE). Through an online questionnaire, a sample of 493 participants was obtained, 288 from SME (58.4%) and 205 from LE (41.6%), where they answered the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale short version (UWES-9), Escala do Compromisso Organizacional e Organizational Climate Scale short version (CLIOR). In the data analysis, we used independent t-test, were we found out that there are statistically significant differences between SME and LE at the level of organizational commitment, t(491) = 2.47, p = .014, d = 0.226, with the exception of the continuance commitment, t(491) = -0.96, p = .338, d = -0.088. Regarding work engagement, there are no differences between the groups, t(491) = 1.43, p = .155, d = 0.130. In summary, although SME and GE have different characteristics and benefits, they should adopt some of the styles and practices of the opposite group in order to improve or maintain the levels of work engagement and organizational commitment. |
