The recent years have assisted an effort of theoretical and experimental research by the geochemists concerning the genesis, mobilization and mineralization of granitic aplitepegmatite bodies. The magma sources of these bodies are still a matter of intense debate, specially the inner granite pegmatites, which in general are related to hybrid magmas, in mixing corridors aligned with granite boundaries and superimposed shear zones, which are included in major Variscan suture zones and/or overthrust mega scalar structures. Magmatic phenomena of mixing, mingling, and unmixing may occur in those corridors. While in the mingling, the degree of magmatic mixture is incipient, in the mixing there is a more refined miscegenation of magmas, which eventually may be complete. In turn, the unmixing of fluids in the more decompressed magmatic sections can lead to bubbling phenomena. The liquids, fluids, gels and mushes generated in such magmatic processes may interact and evolve, producing eventually significant volumes of liquids and/or fluids with low viscosity, which can later differentiate in fractures and cavities of the granite cupolas, thereby generating pegmatites. The main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate whether the mixture of two magmas, with contrasting chemical compositions, accompanied by fractional crystallization, may produce a pegmatitic magma. For this goal, a thermodynamic computational simulator was used to study the geochemical evolution of the residual liquid of the mixture. The influence on the pegmatoid tendency of the mafic or felsic character of the magmatic recharge, the effect of the thermal moment at which the recharge occurs, and the concentration evolution in the residual liquid of two important volatiles for the genesis of pegmatites were also evaluated. Applying an original analytical methodology, based on chromograms, and specific metrics and classifications, the results reveal discrete evidence suggesting that the hypothesis under evaluation may be valid and, consequently, deserving further studies. In light of the obtained results, it is proposed a genetic model that points the mixing and unmixing as precursors to the large pegmatite bodies formed by in situ fractionation. |
