dc.description.abstract | This paper explores the interdependence between the development of the financial system and the economic growth, taking also into consideration the impacts of other macroeconomic and social variables on the GDP growth rate. This study contemplates data from a sample of nine countries from six continents, between the year 2000 and 2019, they were based on panel data, and the regression models were estimated by the OLS method, fixed effects model and random effects model. The results of the estimation revealed that the low growth rates observed in the developed countries have been strongly attenuated, mainly by the economies' openness to foreign direct investment, their saving capacity, as well as the dynamics enabled by the market-based and bank-based financing structure. On the other hand, the economic growth of developing countries is explained not only by their openness to international trade but also by the influence of the banking market. | por |
