Aprender ciências e desenvolver saberes de outras áreas curriculares: uma abordagem integrada na Educação Pré-Escolar e no 1.º CEB

Abstract

O presente relatório resultou da implementação de um projeto de intervenção pedagógica, realizado no âmbito do estágio curricular do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. O projeto surgiu após um período inicial de observação em ambos os contextos educativos, nos quais foi possível identificar o interesse das crianças e alunos pelo meio natural envolvente. Por conseguinte, esboçou-se um projeto baseado na metodologia de Investigação-ação e que partisse de atividades de ciências da natureza e, complementarmente, estimulassem o desenvolvimento de competências das restantes áreas educativas, procurando-se com este projeto compreender de que forma é que os diversos temas de Ciências, explorados de forma prática e investigativa, poderão contribuir para a construção integrada de saberes das diversas áreas curriculares. Face o exposto, foram dinamizadas 9 atividades no contexto de Educação Pré-Escolar (em colaboração com a colega de estágio) e 4 atividades no de 1.º Ciclo. Durante a implementação das atividades do projeto, procedeu-se à recolha de dados através de gravações de áudio e registos fotográficos, assim como notas de campo e diários de atividade. Posteriormente, procedeu-se a uma análise atenta dos diários de atividade e, ainda, à construção de grelhas de análise dos conteúdos dos mesmos – uma para a Educação Pré-Escolar e outra para o ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Com base nas evidências obtidas, constata-se que as atividades de ciências da natureza exploradas permitiram estabelecer conexões com outras áreas do saber, contribuindo para a sua aprendizagem.

This report resulted from the implementation of a pedagogical intervention project, carried out within the scope of the curricular internship of the Master’s degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching 1st Cycle of Basic Education. The project emerged after an initial period of observation in both educational contexts, in which it was possible to identify the interest of children and students in the surrounding natural environment. Therefore, a project based on the action research methodology was outlined, starting from natural science research activities and, in addition, stimulating the development of skills in other educational areas, seeking with this project to understand how the different themes of Science, explored in a practical an investigative way, can contribute to the integrated construction of knowledge from the different curricular areas. In light of the above, 9 activities were carried out in the context of Pre-School Education (in collaboration with an internship colleague) and 4 activities in the 1st Cycle. During the implementation of the project activities, data was collected through audio recordings and photographic records, as well as field notes and activity diaries. Subsequently, a careful analysis of the activity diaries was carried out, as well the construction of content analysis grids – one for Pre-School Education and the other for the teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. Based on the evidence obtained, it appears that the activities of natural sciences explored allowed establishing connection with other areas of knowledge, contributing to their learning.
