Importância cartografia geomorfológica ordenamento áreas protegidas: Parque Natural de Montesinho

Abstract

Neste trabalho dá-se a conhecer a cartografia geomorfológica da área do Parque Natural de Montesinho (PNM). Procura-se igualmente demonstrar a sua relevância para o melhor ordenamento da área, tendo em conta a informação que nela se pode sintetizar. Esta cartografia pode e deve ser utilizada como um instrumento de ordenamento, nos seus vários aspectos. Com diferentes níveis de informação, é o que mais se aproxima da representação real da paisagem do PNM, reunindo várias folhas de informação distinta mas que pode ser usada conjuntamente de forma complementar. A natureza vectorial da cartografia permite ainda que se acrescente informação habitualmente não figura da na cartografia geomorfológica analógica.

The role ofgeomorphological mapping in protected areas management: the example ofMontesinho Natural Park (NE Portugal). In this work we present the geomorphological map of Montesinho Natural Park (MNP). This cartography can be used as an important management instrument because it congregates information from different sources. Putting together different data layers, it constitutes the closest graphic representation of MNP landscape. This cartography assembles in the same map different geomorphological and geological information as well as other important features of natural and cultural environment. In the preparation of MNP geomorphological map we integrated digital inputs, using ACD Systems Canvas software. This allows the visualization by layers and the editing at any time as well as the production of maps with different levels of complexity.
