Tradução e comunicação multilingue no âmbito da arte: um estudo de caso

Abstract

Este relatório de estágio apresenta uma reflexão sobre as tarefas que foram realizadas durante o meu estágio curricular na zet gallery, uma galeria de arte em Braga, no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue. Pretende-se demonstrar a importância do papel da tradução e da comunicação como mediação entre a arte e o público, através da observação e análise da maneira como estas áreas se interligam, a partir das tarefas desenvolvidas ao longo deste percurso. Os dois primeiros capítulos deste relatório de estágio são os Estudos de Tradução e A Comunicação (no âmbito do estágio), com uma contextualização do enquadramento teórico, indicando as tarefas realizadas consoante a sua natureza. No terceiro capítulo encontra-se a Apresentação do Estágio, onde é elaborada a descrição da entidade acolhedora e as ferramentas de apoio utilizadas, tal como a descrição do estágio, analisando de maneira geral o processo de tradução. Quanto ao capítulo quatro, Descrição das Tarefas Desenvolvidas, divide-se em dois grupos: as tarefas de tradução e as de comunicação no domínio de uma galeria de arte. No primeiro grupo está abrangido todo o trabalho de legendagem, revisão e tradução, enquanto no segundo grupo encontram-se todas as funções realizadas na assistência de curadoria. Estas tarefas são apoiadas por análises gráficas e recursos de imagem, sendo fundamentadas com os respetivos dados numéricos e percentagens. Por fim, o último capítulo de Análise do Trabalho Realizado, debruça-se sobre os desafios evidenciados, assim como uma análise geral do trabalho.

This project presents a reflection on the tasks that were carried out during my curricular internship at zet gallery, an art gallery in Braga, within the scope of the Master in Translation and Multilingual Communication. The aim is to demonstrate the importance of the role of translation and communication as mediation between art and the public, through observation and analysis of how these areas are interconnected, based on the tasks developed along this path. The first two chapters of this internship report are the Translation Studies and Communication (within the scope of the internship), with a contextualization of the theoretical framework, indicating the tasks performed according to their nature. In the third chapter is the Presentation of the Internship, where the description of the host entity and the support tools used are presented, as well as the description of the internship, taking a general approach to the translation process. As for chapter four, Description of the Developed Tasks, it is divided into two groups: translation and communication tasks in the context of an art gallery. The first group covers all subtitling, proofreading and translation work, while the second group includes all functions performed as curatorship assistant. These tasks are supported by graphical analysis and image resources, being substantiated with respective numerical data and percentages. Finally, the last chapter of Analysis of the Research Work, focuses on the identified challenges as well as an overall analysis of the work.
