Palavras e expressões com carga cultural na monografia «Conhecimentos da Cultura Chinesa»: análise de estratégias de tradução e comparação das versões portuguesa e inglesa

Abstract

No contexto de globalização atual, a comunicação intercultural entre a China e os países lusófonos tem-se tornado, indubitavelmente, cada vez mais ampla. Na tradução Chinês - Português, é exigida uma maior atenção por parte do tradutor no tratamento de palavras e expressões que contêm conotações específicas culturais, que representam a cristalização da cultura chinesa, possuindo estruturas e caraterísticas morfológicas completamente diferentes em relação às línguas ocidentais. A presente dissertação foca-se na tradução das palavras e expressões chinesas com carga cultural, partindo de um estudo de caso da monografia intitulada « Conhecimentos da Cultura Chinesa – 中国文化常识 zhōngguó wé nhuà chá ngshì», com edições bilingues Chinês/Português e Chinês/Inglês. No primeiro capítulo, procede-se a uma breve apresentação desta monografia e da Teoria da Receção, bem como da definição das palavras e expressões com carga cultural e sua categorização. O segundo capítulo explora a metodologia de tradução sob o Prisma da Teoria da Receção, demonstrando seis estratégias concretas de tradução. O último capítulo, permite-me, através da minha visão como aprendente e tradutora trilingue, fazer uma comparação entre as traduções portuguesas e inglesas, através de uma análise qualitativa e quantitativa de um corpus construído a partir de exemplos selecionados da referida monografia. Este trabalho visa averiguar as estratégias de tradução adotadas na monografia bilingue para cada categoria das palavras e expressões com carga cultural e mostrar os problemas e soluções encontradas, contribuindo para a revisão de tradução e dando algumas sugestões para aqueles que tenham interesse nos estudos associados ao tema desta dissertação no futuro.

In current context of globalization, the intercultural communication between China and Portuguese-speaking countries becomes undoubtedly wide. In Chinese - Portuguese translation, translators should pay the greatest attention to translate the words and expressions with specific cultural connotations, because they have completely different structures and morphological characteristics from those of western languages to represent the crystallization of corresponding culture. The present dissertation focuses on the translation of Chinese culture-loaded words and expressions, starting from a case study of the monograph entitled « Common Knowledge About Chinese Culture – 中国文化常识 zhōngguó wé nhuà chá ngshì» with bilingual Chinese/Portuguese and Chinese/English editions. In the first chapter, this monograph and the Reception Theory are briefly introduced, and then, the definition of culture-loaded words and expressions, as well as their categorization are presented. The second chapter explores the translation methodology from the point of view of Reception Theory, and demonstrates six concrete strategies of translation. In the last chapter, from my point of view as a trilingual learner and translator, the qualitative and quantitative analysis and comparison are made between Portuguese and English translations of the corpus built from selected examples in the aforementioned monograph. This work aims to ascertain the translation strategies adopted for each category of culture-loaded words and expressions in the bilingual monograph, and shows the problems and solutions encountered throughout it, which contributes to the translation review and provides some suggestions for those who are interested in the relative studies in the future.

全球化背景下，中国与葡语国家间的跨文化交流日益频繁。在中-葡翻译中，译者应 留意具有特殊文化涵义的词汇与表达，因其具有与西方语言完全不同的结构和词法特 征，能够传递相应的文化内涵。 本文以《中国文化常识》（中/葡、中/英双语版本）为对象，着重研究中国文化负 载词的翻译。第一章中，简要介绍该专著和“接受理论”，并对文化负载词进行定义和分 类。第二章基于“接受理论”探讨文化负载词的翻译方法，示范了六种翻译策略。最后一 章，由三语习者与译者视角，对比了所建语料库的英语和葡语翻译，并进行定性与定量 分析。 本文旨在阐释《中国文化常识》中各类文化负载词的翻译策略，针对遇到的问题提 出解决方案，助益该专著的翻译校订，并提出些许建议，谨供相关学者参考。
