O papel dos eventos multiculturais na promoção do diálogo intercultural: a perceção dos participantes

Abstract

Na era da globalização, as trocas e interações culturais estão cada vez mais presentes nas vivências diárias das sociedades modernas. Assim, a necessidade de comunicar e estabelecer ligações entre membros de diferentes culturas, leva ao desenvolvimento de diversas estratégias para permitir a integração e partilha entre todos os indivíduos. Os eventos culturais são uma estratégia muito utilizada no ensino superior para trocas culturais, com grande aceitação pela comunidade estudantil. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo o entendimento e aprofundamento do estudo existente sobre a multiculturalidade e o diálogo intercultural e se os eventos culturais ajudam na promoção e desenvolvimento do diálogo intercultural. Pretende este trabalho analisar a perceção que os participantes em eventos culturais têm sobre a sua participação nos mesmos e se estes são um incremento para o aumentam das suas competências interculturais. O estudo é focado na comunidade de indivíduos que já realizaram experiências de mobilidade. Esta comunidade mostra-se mais disponível à participação em eventos culturais e tem maior probabilidade de integrar interações multiculturais.

In the era of globalization, cultural exchanges and interactions are increasingly present in the daily experiences of modern societies. Thus, the need to communicate and establish connections between members of different cultures, leads to the development of different strategies to allow integration and sharing between all individuals. Cultural events are a strategy widely used in higher education for cultural interaction, with great acceptance by the student community. This dissertation aims to understand and deepen the existing study on multiculturalism and intercultural dialogue and if cultural events help to promote and develop it. This work intends to analyze the perception that the participants in cultural events have about their participation in them and if they increase their intercultural competences. The study is focused on the community of individuals who have already had mobility experiences. This community is more willing to participate in cultural events and is more likely to integrate multicultural interactions.
