Centro e periferia da biblioteca lusógrafa: a literatura de Macau no sistema literário em língua portuguesa

Abstract

Língua pluricêntrica e partilhada por diferentes povos que a têm como sua, o português é o idioma escolhido por uma vasta comunidade de escritores para nele vazarem a sua criatividade literária. A partir das suas produções se vem constituindo um cânone lusógrafo em cujo centro se situam as literaturas brasileira e portuguesa, às quais se juntam paulatinamente as literaturas das nações africanas de língua oficial portuguesa. Nas margens desta comunidade, ficam as literaturas asiáticas em português, mormente a macaense, cujos autores e obras estão remetidos aos lugares menos acessíveis da biblioteca lusógrafa. Neste artigo, discutem-se questões relacionadas com a constituição de um cânone lusógrafo, colocando a ênfase sobre o lugar relativo que a literatura de Macau aí pode ocupar e sobre o seu contributo para o prestígio do português enquanto língua de arte e de cultura.

Portuguese is a pluricentric language shared by different peoples who have it as their own. It is the language chosen by a vast community of writers who channel their literary creativity into it. From all that has been produced, a canon of Portuguese writing has been established, at the center of which are the Brazilian and Portuguese literatures. Literatures of African nations, whose official language is Portuguese, are gradually being added. On the fringe of this community are Asian literatures in Portuguese, principally from Macau, whose authors and works are attributed less accessible places in the Lusographic library. This article discusses issues related to the constitution of a canon of Portuguese literature, emphasizing the relative place that works from Macau can occupy and their contribution to the prestige of Portuguese as a language of art and culture.
