Perceções sobre a formação em jornalismo cultural: o relato de um estágio na agência Lusa

Abstract

No presente relatório é feito um registo crítico de um período de três meses de estágio curricular, na redação do Porto, da única agência de notícias portuguesa de âmbito nacional, a Agência Lusa. A aluna estagiou em várias secções dentro da agência de notícias: País, Cultura, Justiça, entre outras. A experiência positiva na secção de Cultura acabou por delinear o percurso da presente investigação, levando a aluna a escolher um tema de investigação na área do jornalismo cultural. O presente relatório é um contributo para a identificação das rotinas observadas durante o período de formação. Esta pequena investigação pretende compreender a seguinte questão: Qual a perceção dos jornalistas de Cultura sobre a necessidade e a oferta de formação para o jornalista na editoria de Cultura? No presente relatório serão analisados os dados recolhidos das entrevistas online semiestruturadas realizadas a cinco jornalistas da secção de cultura, durante a pandemia de Covid-19. A análise foi feita a partir de perceções de jornalistas culturais de órgãos de comunicação social nacionais. A reflexão feita pela aluna abriu novas questões para futuros debates: a formação em jornalismo cultural é pouco dinamizada nas redações portuguesas; a maioria dos jornalistas descreve um fraco investimento das redações em formação e reiteram a importância das atividades extracurriculares na formação dos estudantes de jornalismo. Quanto à pergunta de partida, - Qual a perceção dos jornalistas de Cultura sobre a necessidade e a oferta de formação para o jornalista na editoria de Cultura? – ficou claro que há pouca formação em jornalismo cultural nas redações/universidades e que os próprios jornalistas da editoria de cultura diagnosticam a falta de oferta formativa na área. Consequentemente, realçam também que essa lacuna é prejudicial à prática jornalística.

This report presents a questioning description and analysis of a three-month period of curricular internship, in Porto’s newsroom, of the only national news agency in Portugal: Agência Lusa. The student did the internship in several sections within the news agency: Country, Culture, Justice, among others. The positive experience in the culture section ended up outlining or tracking the present investigation, leading a student to choose a research topic in the field of cultural journalism. This report is an attribute for identifying the routines observed during the training period. This small investigation aims to understand the following question: What is the perception of Culture journalists about the need and offer of training for journalists in the Culture journalistic section? The following report includes data collected from semi-structured online interviews conducted with five journalists from the culture section will be analysed during a Covid-19 pandemic. An analysis was made from the perceptions of cultural journalists from national media. The reflection made by the student opened new questions for future debates: the training in cultural journalism is little encouraged in newsrooms in Portuguese; most journalists described a low investment in training newsrooms and reiterated the importance of extracurricular activities in the training of journalism students. As for the starting question, - What is the perception of Culture journalists about the need and offer of training for the Culture editor? - it was clear that there is little training in cultural journalism in newsrooms / universities and that they are journalists in the cultural section diagnosed as lack of training in the area. Consequently, also realize that this gap is detrimental to journalistic practice.
