Resumo(s): | Auditory Processing Screening (APS) in children of school age is of great importance since it allows the early detection of difficulties in auditory competencies, anticipating or justifying possible difficulties in learning. APS was applied to 48 children aged 7-11 years. This study showed that among the three APS tests (SL, VSM and NVSM) the VSM was the most difficult test for the children since more than one-third of them (17 children or 35.4%) had scores below the expected figures. This study also showed that boys had significantly lower results than girls in the NVSM test. All children with below-expected RPA results should undergo a formal evaluation of Auditory Processing (AP) to explore the difficulties encountered. |
