Princípios e aplicações de engenharia e gestão industrial: uma abordagem metodológica

Abstract

A presente dissertação foi realizada no âmbito do curso do Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial (MIEGI) da Universidade do Minho. Uma vez que se trata de uma tese académica foi realizada exclusivamente na referida universidade. Os objetivos tratam de saber se os alunos de dissertação do MIEGI e os autores de artigos internacionais utilizaram as mesmas ferramentas (OEE, 5'S, por exemplo) para atingir os seus objetivos e, mais importante, que aprendizagem resulta da reflexão sobre ambos. Uma vez que os objetivos dependem em larga medida da pesquisa, a metodologia de investigação utilizada foi a análise documental. A presente dissertação permitiu desenvolver aprendizagem relativamente a dez temas, que foram os mais abordados pelos alunos nas dissertações EGI. Na generalidade, os alunos e autores internacionais utilizam as mesmas ferramentas para os mesmos fins e os autores internacionais corroboram com as ideias dos alunos de dissertação do MIEGI. Neste estudo, identificaram-se noventa aprendizagens (nove para cada tema) na revisão bibliográfica e mais trinta (três em cada tema) na discussão de resultados. O trabalho realizado inclui a realização de uma revisão bibliográfica, uma análise das dissertações do MIEGI e uma discussão dos resultados identificados. Na primeira parte, foi possível identificar conceitos importantes acerca dos quinze temas escolhidos, tendo sido selecionados cinco artigos científicos em cada um dos dez temas mais importantes. A análise destes artigos permitiu identificar cerca de noventa aprendizagens sobre esses conceitos, devidamente justificadas. De seguida, foram consideradas três dissertações do MIEGI para cada um dos dez temas. Por último, foi possível comparar e identificar ensinamentos acerca de determinadas ferramentas identificadas nos documentos analisados. O estudo realizado permitiu identificar que alunos do MIEGI utilizam as mesmas ferramentas referidas nos artigos científicos para atingir os seus objetivos. Foi ainda possível adquirir conhecimento científico e uma importante aprendizagem prática através da reflexão sobre artigos e teses analisados.

This dissertation was carried out under the Master Course in Engineering and Industrial Management (MIEGI) at the University of Minho. Since it is an academic thesis, it was carried out exclusively at the university. The objectives aim to know if the students of the dissertation of MIEGI and the authors of international articles used the same tools (OEE, 5'S, for example) to achieve their objectives and, more importantly, that learning results from the reflection on both. Since the objectives depend greatly on research, the methodology used was document analysis. This dissertation allowed us to develop learning related to ten chosen subjects (they were because they are often covered by the students in the dissertations EGI). In general, students and authors use the same tools for the same purposes and international authors corroborate the ideas of MIEGI dissertation students. In this study, ninety learnings (nine for each subject) were identified in the literature review and another thirty (three in each subject) in the discussion of results. The dissertation includes a literature review, analysis of MIEGI dissertations and discussion of results. The first part, starts by gathering important concepts about the fifteen subjects chosen, followed by five significant international articles for each of the ten most important subjects. The analysis of these articles allowed us to identify ninety learnings about these concepts, duly justified. Then three MIEGI dissertations were collected for each of the ten subjects. Finally, it was possible to compare and identify learnings about certain tools identified in the analyzed documents. It was found that students and authors of articles use the same tools to achieve their goals. It was also possible to acquire scientific knowledge and an important practical learning through reflection on articles and theses analyzed.
