Qualidade e satisfação percebida com o estágio curricular em estudantes de Psicologia

Abstract

A qualidade da transição ensino superior e mercado de trabalho exerce uma influência notável no desenvolvimento subsequente da carreira e no ajustamento psicossocial dos estudantes. Este estudo analisa a relação entre a qualidade percebida do estágio curricular e a satisfação com o mesmo em estudantes do curso de Psicologia. Participaram 121 estudantes do último ano do curso de Psicologia de uma universidade pública do noroeste de Portugal. Destes 103 são raparigas (85.1%) e 16 são rapazes (13.2%), com idades entre 21 e 53 anos (M = 24.6) (DP = 6.25). Estes responderam a um questionário sociodemográfico, ao Inventário da Qualidade do Estágio e à Escala de Satisfação com o Estágio. Os resultados de uma análise de regressão linear múltipla indicam que a qualidade percebida no estágio curricular é um preditor significativo da satisfação com o estágio, sendo que estudantes com maior suporte social, melhores oportunidades de aprendizagem e maior clareza das instruções, apresentam maior satisfação com o estágio. Conclui-se que a perceção da qualidade de estágio pode constituir um comportamento adaptativo de carreira associado a componentes da satisfação com o estágio curricular em Psicologia.

The quality of the transition between higher education and labour market plays an important role on further career development and psychosocial adjustment of the students. This study analyses the relationship between the perceived quality of the curricular internship and the satisfaction of the students of Psychology. One hundred and twenty one students on the last year of Psychology degree, at a public university in the north-west of Portugal, took part of this study, 103 of those were female (85.1%) and 16 male (13.2%), aged between 21 and 53 (M = 24.6) (SD = 6.25). The study consisted in the analysis of the replies to a sociodemographic questionnaire, a Statistical Quality Inventory and a Stages of Satisfaction Scale. The results of a multiple linear regression analysis allowed to identify that the perceived quality of the curricular internship presents a significant indicator of the satisfaction with the very same, where students with better social support, learning opportunities and greater clarity of instruction present higher satisfaction with the internship. It was concluded that the perception of the quality of the internship seems to constitute an adaptive career behaviour associated to satisfaction components with the curricular internship in Psychology.
