dc.description.abstract | Aphasia is a communication disorder characterized by difficulties in language processing, comprehension, writing and reading that affect the left hemisphere of the brain. Intervention in this type of injury is characterized as multidisciplinary. Neurostimulation involves intervention techniques as neurocognitive training, noninvasive brain stimulation such as Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). Neurocognitive training focuses on language recovery from the perspective of neuropsychology (recovery of cognitive functions). This is adaptive, progressive and intensive. tDCS, as a neuroplasticity inducing technique, is used in combination with neurocognitive training to enhance its effects on neuronal circuits. The present thesis is organized in two studies: 1 - Literature review about the effects of tDCS on aphasia after stroke; 2 - Case study of the prolonged effects of the combined intervention of neurocognitive language rehabilitation with tDCS in a patient with chronic Aphasia diagnosis. | por |
