Durante as aulas,
The current report was the culmination of a one-year professional internship, part of a Master’s Degree on Musical Teaching, held at Academia de Música de Vilar do Paraíso during the academic year of 2017/2018, in the disciplinary groups of Classical Guitar and Ensemble Class. The intervention project was applied to ten students, and intended to verify the evolution and development of their speed in guitar playing, after a period of practice of certain technical exercises. Before the intervention process, an interview to guitar teachers of various music styles was held, on the problem of speed. During the classes, strategies were applied in order to increase the speed of the students on the guitar, trying also to instill the pleasure of practicing technique for the improvement of specific musical interpretation aspects. To evaluate the results of this investigation, students had to go through a Velocity Test – which measured the maximum speed at which the students could play a scale – before and after a period of practice. The results were very positive, with a significant increase of the speed between the two tests, as well as an increased motivation and interest in practicing the technique of the instrument. It was also noticeable an increased comfort in scales execution among students, as well as an increased confidence and enthusiasm in their execution. |
