A consagração do monstro no mundo pós-moderno: análise da relatividade do Mal na construção das personagens Flora e Donatela na telenovela A Favorita

Abstract

Este trabalho apresenta os resultados da pesquisa sobre a consagração do monstro no mundo pós-moderno, por meio da análise da relatividade do Mal na construção das personagens Flora e Donatela na telenovela A Favorita (Rede Globo, 2008), de autoria de João Emanuel Carneiro e com direção geral de Ricardo Waddington, tendo como base os conceitos de bem e mal do sociólogo Michel Maffesoli, apresentados no livro A Parte do Diabo. Desde a Gênese, o Monstro tem contribuído significativamente para a progressão do ser humano, abrangendo principalmente os âmbitos econômicos e socioculturais. Limitado às páginas das escrituras, templos religiosos e museus durante séculos, o Monstro libertou-se e encontrou no mundo hodierno um meio de comunicação eficaz. As telenovelas, baseadas na estratégia maniqueísta de opor as forças do Bem e do Mal, por meio dos seus personagens, geram conflitos que ressaltam a importância do Maligno, tornando sua figura funcional e aceitável bem como imprescindível para justificar a existência do bem. Foram investigados os modos de construção e apresentação da maldade para o público, levando em consideração os fatores preponderantes que contribuíram para o sucesso e ascensão do Monstro no horário nobre. Esta dissertação enaltece os estudos sobre o Mal, destacando sua relevância para o desenvolvimento cultural da sociedade no mundo pós-moderno.

This work presents the results of the research on the consecration of the monster in the postmodern world, through the analysis of the relativity of Evil in the construction of the characters Flora and Donatela in the telenovela A Favorita (Rede Globo, 2008), by João Emanuel Carneiro and with general direction of Ricardo Waddington, based on the concepts of good and evil of the sociologist Michel Maffesoli, presented in the book The Part of the Devil. Since Genesis, the Monster has contributed significantly to the progression of the human being, covering mainly the economic and socio-cultural spheres. Limited to the pages of the scriptures, religious temples and museums for centuries, the Monster was liberated and found in today's world an effective means of communication. The telenovelas, based on the Manichean strategy of opposing the forces of Good and Evil, through their characters, generate conflicts that emphasize the importance of the Evil One, making its figure functional and acceptable as well as essential to justify the existence of the good. The methods of constructing and presenting evil to the public were investigated, taking into account the preponderant factors that contributed to the success and ascension of the Monster in prime time. This dissertation extols the studies on Evil, highlighting its relevance to the cultural development of society in the postmodern world.
