Resumo(s)[Excerpt] The development of new coatings and surface modification strategies for biomaterial is of prime importance for understanding and controlling cell-material interactions. In this context, protein adhesion plays a major role in determining the biocompatibility of materials and scaffolds. Here, it is described the use of a Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring (QCM-D) to follow in-situ the adsorption of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) onto a polyelectrolyte multilayer film composed by chitosan (CHI) and alginate (ALG), previously prepared by electrostatically driven Layer-by-Layer (LbL) assembly.
