O dito e o não dito: itinerários urdidos na relação corpo e arte, a partir da obra de Helena Almeida

Abstract

A representação do/e pelo corpo foi objeto de estudo no âmbito das disciplinas de Artes Visuais do terceiro ciclo de escolaridade do Ensino Básico, através do tema da autorrepresentação, entendida esta, como uma exploração que não é individual, mas comunitária, social, comum, abrangente e, como tal, uma mais-valia para o crescimento pessoal e social dos estudantes. Através de um estudo de caso, no contexto das disciplinas de “Educação Visual” e de “Cinema e Artes Visuais”, a investigação propôs constituir-se como um olhar exploratório sobre a importância do corpo na arte e a sua abordagem em contexto escolar, tendo por base a concretização plástica da artista Helena Almeida. O modo como a artista usa o seu corpo e com ele vivência a sua expressão plástica, o modo como aplica as ideias sobre o corpo e o lugar e testa as limitações corpóreas no seu uso,como meio expressivo, como instrumento e objeto artístico, pode constituir-se o melhor processo paraum entendimento das artes plásticas e performativas contemporâneas, assim como um contributo para a consciencialização do autor enquanto produto. Em termos de metodologia de trabalho foi estruturado um conjunto de propostas de criação visual e plástica que tiveram como objetivo a consciência do corpo próprio do sujeito, enquanto fazedor de uma obra e elemento representado no objeto artístico, suscitando a auto-análise, junto de alunos com idades compreendidas entre os 12 e os 16 anos.

Representation of the body and through the body was studied in the subject of Visual Arts of the 3rd cycle of Elementary School through the theme of self-representation. This self-representation is understood, not as individual, but as social and communal, therefore broad and worthwhile for the students personal and social growth. A case study was developed in the school subjects of “Visual Arts Education” and “Cinema and Visual Arts” with the purpose of exploring the significance of the body in art and how to approach the theme in the school context. This was done in consideration of the work of artist Helena Almeida. The ways in which the artist uses the body and experiments its plastic expression, the ways in which she expresses her ideas through the body, the placement of the body and the limits of its use as an expressive means, as an instrument and artistic object, may be a good contribution for the understanding of contemporary visual and performing arts and for the understanding of the author as product. Methodologically several visual and plastic suggestions pedagagical activities were presented with the goal of reaching the perception of one’s own body as a work of art and as an element represented in the work of art. This method provoked self-analysis in the students whose age was between 12 and 16 years old.
