A amostra
do cliente.
clinica. Studies focused on the identification of significant events and their impact, have contributed to the understanding of client change throughout the therapeutic process. The objective of this study was to identify the significant events and their impact, by client’s perspective, in cases that show different therapeutic results. The sample of this study consists of eight clients diagnosed with depression receiving an intervention based on cognitive-behavioral therapy. During the therapy process, the significant events were collected through the Helpful Aspects of Therapy, client version. The results show that 128 significant events were identified by the clients, of which 67 were success cases and 61 were therapeutic failures. Subsequently, through a thematic analysis, following a deductive method, the impacts related to these events were categorized. The most frequent impact categories in success stories were insight, problem solving, sense of empowerment, and exploration of feelings. In cases of failure, it can be seen that the categories of impact were insight and problem solving. This comparison of cases, with different therapeutic results, suggests that clients differ about what was useful during the therapy process, and these results are discussed in terms of clinical relevance. |
