Ação organizacional e qualidade de vida. Um estudo comparado do norte de Portugal e Galiza no campo da deficiência mental

Abstract

Trata-se de um estudo de cariz comparativo realizado a partir de 4 organizações de formação e reabilitação profissional de pessoas com deficiência, duas sedeadas no Norte de Portugal e duas na Galiza. A investigação desenvolvida procurou compreender e explicar a ação dos agentes dessas organizações com base nas práticas que visam o desenvolvimento de competências dos seus formandos com deficiência mental, nas dimensões de autodeterminação, participação e vida independente que integram o conceito de Qualidade de Vida. A resposta às interrogações colocadas passou pela mobilização do sistema de conceitos da Teoria da Estruturação de Giddens. Assim, o principal objetivo consistiu em identificar as regras que guiaram as práticas dos agentes organizacionais para tentar compreendêlas e explicá-las em termos do seu contributo para a reprodução ou transformação do sistema de regras sobre a deficiência. Para atingir os objetivos propostos privilegiaram-se os testemunhos de vários atores (pessoas com deficiência mental, os seus amigos, colegas de trabalho, familiares, empregadores, formadores, responsáveis das organizações de reabilitação e especialistas no campo da reabilitação profissional), recolhidos através de entrevistas semiestruturadas e inquéritos por questionários.

This research is based on a comparative perspective done on behalf of 4 organizations for training and professional rehabilitation for disable persons, two located in the north of Portugal and another two in Galicia, Spain. The subsequent investigation aims to understand and explain the actions applied from the agents linked to this organizations based on their practices that allows the development of competences from trainees with mental disorder, under the dimensions for self-determination, active participation and independent life that form part of the concept for Quality of Life. The answers to all the queries were based on the application of the concepts presented in the Structuration Theory by Giddens. Therefore, the main goal consisted on the identification of the rules that lead to the practices applied by the organizational agents that provides a better understanding and an explanation regarding their contribute for the reproduction or transformation on the rules system about disability. In order to achieve the purposed objectives, the testimonials from a select group of actors (mental health patients, their friends, co-workers, relatives, employees, teachers, main board from the rehabilitation associations and specialists in the field of professional rehabilitation) were taken in consideration, the testimonials were collected through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires by surveys.
