Notas (im)prováveis de um professor de Filosofia

Abstract

Na viagem que o professor faz durante a sua carreira, muitos são os episódios positivos e negativos que contribuem para a sua formação. No percurso de um docente cruzam-se diferentes linhas de aprendizagem: a da vida e a académica. Ambas são necessárias para o desempenho da desgastante profissão docente. É o trajeto de uma vida que nos ensina a ser homem, a valorizar as aprendizagens sejam elas académicas ou outras. A passagem por muitos e diversificados locais, o contacto com diferentes realidades sociais, culturais e económicas, são elementos determinantes para uma aprendizagem sólida. A relação diária com os alunos e as suas idiossincrasias são em última análise, modelos de aprendizagens sistemáticos e inesgotáveis no percurso de um docente. A formação ao longo da vida permitiu que eu me tornasse um professor mais atento, mais humilde e capaz de responder às dificuldades que a escola e os alunos me iam colocando. O professor de Filosofia e a própria disciplina funcionam na sociedade atual como um elemento imprescindível para a sua compreensão. Questionar o mundo onde o aluno habita, é o modo da Filosofia contribuir para a sua felicidade. Este mundo hipermoderno que os alunos povoam, tem que ser questionado para melhor ser interpretado e compreendido. O papel da Filosofia ainda é como a sua história nos indica, a indagação. O presente relatório trata estas temáticas, ao longo de três capítulos. Assim, depois da Introdução, o primeiro capítulo é a minha história de vida, onde se entrecruza a formação no contexto da vida quotidiana e a formação académica. Mostro aí a complementaridade destas aprendizagens e em que medida elas foram importantes para o professor que fui sendo ao longo da carreira. No segundo capítulo realço, sobretudo, a minha prática letiva e a forma como ela foi influenciada pelas múltiplas aprendizagens que concretizei durante a vida profissional. Estas aprendizagens aparecem também plasmadas, nos contactos que obrigatoriamente estabeleci com a comunidade educativa. No terceiro capítulo, faço uma reflexão sobre o tipo de alunos que são hoje o público das nossas escolas, e a importância da disciplina de Filosofia na construção de espíritos abertos e críticos. Seguem-se uma Reflexão Conclusiva e a Bibliografia.

In the journey that a teacher does during his career, many are the positives and negatives events that contribute to his own personal formation. On the path of a teacher there are different learning lines that cross: the one related to life and the academic one. Both are necessary for the exhausting performance that is a job related to teaching. It is a course of someone’s life that teaches us how to be human, to value all the apprenticeship, either it comes from an academic origin or another. Journeying through lots of diversified places, the contact with somewhat different social, cultural and economic realities are milestone elements for a solid learning process. The daily relationship with the students and their idiosyncrasies are, at the latest analysis, systematic and endless learning models in the path of a teacher. The lifelong formation allowed me to become a more watchful and humble teacher, able to surpass any difficulties headed my way, either coming from the students or even the school. A Philosophy teacher and the subject itself work in the current society as an indispensable element to its own understanding. Questioning the world that a student lives in it’s the way Philosophy contributes to his happiness. This hypermodern world that the students inhabit must be questioned for better understanding and interpretation. Philosophy’s role is yet as its history tells us: to search for knowledge. This report deals with these areas of study, for as long as three chapters. Therefore, after the Introduction, the first chapter is about my life’s story, where is found the cross between my evolution in a daily life context and my academic formation. There I demonstrate the complementarity of these subjects and why they were important for the kind of teacher I’ve been being over the length of my career. On the second chapter, I highlight mostly my practice and how it has been influenced by the several learning processes I’ve been through for the duration of my professional life. These learning processes also appear shaped in the contacts I, forcefully, made on the educational community. In the third chapter, I give my thoughts on the kind of students that are today our school’s audience and the importance of the Philosophy subject in building open and argumentative minds. Following there are a Conclusive Reflection and a Bibliography.
