A importância da relação professor/aluno no ensino do instrumento

Abstract

Poucos são os autores que abordaram o tema da importância da relação professor-aluno no ensino da música, sendo este tema maioritariamente explorado na área do ensino generalista. Foi esta falta de informação que me levou a focar neste tema, levando à realização deste relatório. Este estudo baseia-se então principalmente na observação da interação entre o aluno e o professor cooperante e entre o aluno e a minha figura enquanto professora estagiária, para tentar perceber qual a importância que o professor pode ter na vida dos alunos, conseguindo, ou não, influenciá-los a estarem mais motivados e mais empenhados no estudo do seu instrumento, mais em concretamente na flauta transversal. O objetivo principal foi então perceber esses aspetos e o que pode ser feito para melhorar toda a experiência do aluno na sua aquisição dos conhecimentos necessários. A investigação foi realizada mediante um estudo de caso múltiplo, de modo a analisar vários dos aspetos envolvidos no ensino da música, tendo como centro a Academia de Música José Atalaya, Fafe - Portugal, durante o ano letivo de 2015/2016, com os alunos de flauta transversal, envolvendo também para uma análise mais alargada os alunos de Orquestra de Sopros, na vertente de Música de Conjunto. A observação, o diálogo com os alunos, os inquéritos e entrevistas foram os meios que me permitiram retirar conclusões sobre o tema em estudo. A informação assim obtida ajudou-me a ter uma melhor perceção do tipo de relação que eles têm com o seu professor, e a confirmar que cada aluno vê a figura do professor de uma forma bastante própria e pessoal e que o tipo de relação estabelecida influencia o seu interesse pelo estudo do instrumento e da música em geral. Graças à investigação realizada, consegui, de facto, concluir que esta aproximação aluno/professor é benéfica para ambas as partes, no sentido de que o professor pode conhecer melhor as limitações e virtudes de cada um dos alunos, aproveitando assim as características individuais dos mesmos em prol de uma aprendizagem bem-sucedida. Portanto, este projeto de intervenção permitiu-me então verificar que um conhecimento mais aprofundado das características de personalidade de cada um dos alunos por parte do professor pode dar frutos positivos, e a partir daí desenvolver capacidades para os cativar, adaptando o seu comportamento de forma a beneficiar a relação interpessoal e a motivação para o estudo do discente.

There are few authors who approached the subject of the importance of the teacher-student relationship in music teaching, being it mostly explored in a generalist teaching sense. It was this lack of information that led me to focus on this issue, which I will develop in this report. This study is based mainly on the observation of the interaction between the student and the cooperating teacher and between the student and my image as a trainee teacher, to try to understand the importance that the teacher can have on the lives of the students, managing or not to influence them to be more motivated and more committed to the study of the student’s instrument, the transverse flute, to be more precise. The main goal was then to understand these aspects and what can be done to improve the overall experience of the student in the achievement of the required knowledge. The research was conducted through a multiple case study to analyse several of the aspects involved in music teaching, having as its center the Academia de Música José Atalaya, Fafe - Portugal, during the academic year 2015/2016, with the students of transverse flute, and for a broader analysis also involving students of the Wind Orchestra, in the Music for Groups area. The observation, the dialogue with the students, the surveys and the interviews were the means which enabled me to draw conclusions about the topic under study. The information thus obtained has helped me to have a better perception of what kind of relationship they have with their teacher, and to validate that each student sees the figure of the teacher in a very unique and personal way and that the kind of relationship established influences their interest for the study of the instrument and of music in general. Thanks to the research undertaken, I could conclude that, in fact, this proximity student/teacher is beneficial to both parts, in the sense that the teacher can understand better the limitations and virtues of each of the students, thus taking advantage of the individual characteristics for a successful learning. Therefore, this interventional project enabled me to acertain that a deeper knowledge by the teacher of the personality characteristics of each of the students can be productive, and thencefor to develop capacities to captivate, adjusting their behaviour to benefit the interpersonal relationship and the motivation for the studying of the learner.
