Being the main focus of the modern scientific debates, school leadership has been the object of many theoretical-methodological approaches. Despite the unquestionable wealth of accumulated scientific heritage, some controversies remain surrounding this subject, partially inducted by the difficulty of establishing an interdisciplinary dialogue and a cross-reference between the different scales of analysis. Throughout this text, we will seek possibles reflections about some of the main tensions and contradictions that have been affecting the construction of this problem, as well as presenting different perspectives. Due to a neoliberal political agenda, the association between leadership and result improvement has been the spine of the main research, directing and confining this phenomenon to the borders dictated by strict relations between the leadership-result variables. Most of the research conducted focus only on the supposed protagonists of leadership, reproducing a vertical insight, from up (leader) to the bottom (led). The student’s point of view as agents of learning and carriers of perspectives and dispositions hasn’t been more than a marginal topic. Seeing leadership as a socially constructed process and, consequently, a result of dynamic factor interaction, internal and external to school, i proposo a reflexion on the different racionalities crossing the phenomenon, including the perspectives of students. In a time that that schools are pressured to present results and implement a “strong” and “efficient” leadership, it is of interest to capture the sutdent’s opinion, the way they incorporate it in their daly school life and, correlatively, how they influence the leadership processes. |
