Sensibilizar para prevenir: um projeto de formação e mediação numa câmara municipal

Abstract

Na sociedade em que vivemos, cada vez mais é necessário alertar e prevenir crianças e jovens e suas famílias para situações de risco e problemáticas subjacentes a esses riscos, sendo cada vez mais urgente planear e construir dispositivos capazes de ajudar a prevenir tais situações. Assim, este relatório de estágio, intitulado “Sensibilizar para prevenir – Um projeto de Formação e Mediação numa Câmara Municipal”, é fruto de um projeto desenvolvido numa CPCJ localizada em Trás-os-Montes e visa descrever e analisar o estágio desenvolvido nesta CPCJ. O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi desenvolver um projeto de intervenção de formação/mediação junto de crianças, jovens e adultos em contexto escolar e não escolar, com vista a prevenir e sensibilizar para situações de risco as crianças e jovens da escola e os adultos sinalizados pela CPCJ. Relativamente aos contextos onde se encontra inserido o público-alvo, pode-se dizer que são muito semelhantes. No entanto, no que diz respeito às crianças, de modo a não se sentirem rotuladas, não participaram nesta iniciativa apenas crianças sinalizadas pela CPCJ, mas sim todas as crianças interessadas, resultando um grupo heterogéneo. No que diz respeito aos pais das crianças sinalizadas pela CPCJ, as problemáticas são comuns a todos, tratando-se, maioritariamente, de situações de negligência parental e alcoolismo. Os resultados deste projeto de intervenção de formação/mediação indicam resultados positivos no sentido de sensibilizar e alertar os participantes para situações de risco, pois, de acordo com as respostas obtidas através dos questionários e de conversas informais ao longo das várias sessões, constatou-se que a formação correspondeu às expectativas dos envolvidos e que aprenderam algo de novo que poderão mobilizar e utilizar no seu dia-a-dia.

In nowadays’ society the need to pay attention to children, young people and their families for risk situations, as well as problems inherent to these risks is increasing, which makes it urgent to plan and design a device that enables us to prevent these situations. Therefore, this report, entitled “Raising awareness: an intervention project on mediation and training in a City Hall”, is the outcome of a project taken into practice in a CPCJ in Trásos- Montes. It aims to describe and analyse the intervention project that was developed in this CPCJ. The main goal of this work was to develop an intervention and formation project directed to children and young people both in and out of school context, in order to prevent and take these children and young people to acknowledge risk situations. In regard to the context of the target population, it can be said to be quite similar. However, as far as children are concerned, the participants were not only the ones under CPCJ’s intervention, but also all the children interested in taking part in the program, which originated a heterogeneous group, but allowed preventing discrimination. As for the children’s parents, the problems concerning them were very much alike: mainly parental negligence and alcoholism. The results of this intervention / formation project indicate that it produced the desired effect of alerting and make the participants attentive to risk situations. In fact, according to the answers to the questionnaires and the informal conversations along the sessions, one was able to verify that the formation was up to the target population’s expectations and that they indeed learned something new that they will put into practice in their daily lives.
