avaliadas cinco culturas, a saber: oliveira, vinha, tomate, citrinos e trigo.
The growing awareness on the part of people in environmental issues makes the study of climate change and an important mechanism central to gauge the real impact that this concept has and will have in the field of water resources management and food production at regional, national and global level. In this thesis, the author will weave general comments about the trinomial “Water resources, food and climate change” to later resent the case of study. The calculation of crop evapotranspiration is a basic mechanism to assess water balances and to estimate water availability and requirements being required their knowledge in spatial and temporal scales for a balanced management of water resources. Indeed, what is intend, in general words, and with the preparation of this master thesis is to evaluate the effects that climate change will have on water resources and food productivity in the region of Alqueva. Will be evaluated five crops are olive, vine, tomato, citrus and wheat. Far will also Fu model study for the olive tree and vine crops. Fruit of the relationship that manifests directly with agricultural crop evapotranspiration is important to estimate its magnitude. The is very dependent on the temperature and relative humidity and CROPWAT 8.0 software allows the measurement values of and calculating the yield of different crops under consideration over the years. Cultures with greater variation is wheat followed by citrus, olive, vine, tomato and one that requires more millimeters of irrigation to suppress the water deficit are the citrus due to the wheat season it’s seeded. It was also observe that there are significant discrepancies between the switch irrigated agriculture and rainfed being the vine the extreme case. In option, agriculture by irrigation and for the wheat there was reduced increased production between of 2011-2020. |
